I represented a 75-year-old man who was admitted to the hospital for altered mental status and agitation. A fall risk assessment was done placing him as a high fall risk. Despite, the precautions were not taken and he got out of bed to use the bathroom and fell breaking his hip, this required an operation. He declined in health and died.

I represented the family of a man who was in the back of a jeep. The other driver was intoxicated and ran a stop sign at a high rate of speed. The impact caused the jeep to spin violently, ejecting my client out of the back window, onto the street, striking his head, and bleeding to death.

My elderly client was in the hospital for dehydration. While there in an altered mental state, she was evaluated for potential risks. She was in a high fall risk category. The nursing staff failed to take precautions and she fell breaking her hip. This break was not operable because of her advanced age. She suffered the untreated fracture till her death.
